There are over 20 computers in the Reference Room that can be used to search the catalog, indexes and databases, and the Internet.
All printers and copiers on campus have migrated to the VPrint system which requires a Vassar ID or a VPrint card. Several VPrint printers are located near the Reference Room. There are no more "Quick Print" Stations available. Learn more about VPrint at the CIS VPrint Site.
Laptop computers for use within the library may be checked out from the Circulation Desk. Most computers in the library do not have floppy or zip drives. In order to save data, you will need to either bring a USB device with you, save the data to another machine on the campus network, or bring a disk and check out one of the small number of external drives available from the circulation desk.
Located on the second floor of the Main Library, the Media Cloisters is a do-it-yourself media production facility, with expert help available. All Vassar students, faculty, and community members may come here to work on video, audio, web and graphic design projects. For more information, see the Media Cloisters website.
Almost every seat in the library has an Ethernet port for access to the campus net and internet. In addition to the wired networking, the Main, Art and Music Libraries are now completely wireless. The wireless network in the Main and Art Libraries is a gift of the Vassar Senior Class of 2004.
There is now guest access available on the wireless network. If you are a guest in the Library and need to access the wireless network, go to the CIS Helpdesk near the printers for assistance.
"Mark Twain & Huckleberry Finn" can be viewed in the Main Library exhibit cases through May 2010.
Artist Travis Head will give a presentation on Thursday, February 4 related to the exhibit of his work that will be on display in the Art Library through that afternoon.
