Interlibrary Loan

Use Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad) to borrow or purchase items not found in Vassar's collection.

Make sure what you want is not at Vassar

Books, scores, microforms: Check online catalog.
Articles: Check journal title in Journals A-Z.

 

What Can Be Borrowed?

  • Books and scores absent from our collection, or materials present in our collection that are checked out or missing. 
    • If an item is "available" in the online catalog but is not on the shelf, you may not request it.  Fill out a NOT ON SHELF form.  If the item is not found, it will be declared missing and become available for request.  If the item is available in ConnectNY, request from there.
  • Articles
  • Microform
  • Dissertations
  • Material from Center for Research Libraries

What Cannot be Borrowed?

These types of materials cannot be borrowed:

  • Whole issues or volumes of periodicals
  • Recent or un-microfilmed newspapers
  • Reference or rare books
  • Maps
  • Videos, DVDs, sound recordings, films and electronic media

Exception: all materials available from the Center for Research Libraries, irrespective of document type, can be borrowed.
