Interlibrary Loan

Use Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad) to borrow or purchase items not found in Vassar's collection.

May I Renew Loans?

ConnectNY: items may be renewed once before the due date.

ILLiad: renewals are done at the discretion of the lending library.  Most libraries allow no more than one renewal.  Make renewal requests at least three days before the item is due.

How Do I Renew?

ConnectNY: Renew requests are made in the Library Account section of the Vassar online catalog.

ILLiad: Log into your ILLiad account and use "View/Renew Checked-out Items".

What If I Wait Until After The Due Date?

ConnectNY: Contact a staff member at the Main Library circulation desk in person, by email (circulation@vassar.edu) or phone (845-437-5760). You may only request ONE renewal for a loan through ConnectNY.

Illiad: Email your renewal request to ill@vassar.edu or call the Interlibrary Loan Office at 437-5765. If the item can't be renewed, you'll be sent a recall notice via email. Otherwise, after a day or two, check your ILLiad account for the new renewal date issued from the lending library.
