Interlibrary Loan

Use Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad) to borrow or purchase items not found in Vassar's collection.

What is ILLiad?

ILLiad is used to borrow books, articles and other types of materials not held by Vassar Libraries. To use ILLiad, you must set up an account.  Books requested via ILLiad generally arrive within  1-2 weeks, articles requested via ILLiad generally arrive within 2-7 days.

To determine the most appropriate service for your needs, see Choosing the Right ILL Service.

Is There a Limit to the Number of Requests?

There are no limits, but if you are submitting a large number of requests, the Interlibrary Loan Department asks that you prioritize them so that the most important items are requested first.

Items that you check out on ILLiad do not count towards the total number of items you are allowed to have checked out at any given time.  For more information on limits, see Loan Periods and Policies.

How Can I Check the Status of My Request?

Log into your ILLiad account and use "View/Modify Outstanding Requests".
