Circulation Forms

Fill out forms at the Circulation Desk or use an online form to request the following services:
Recall/Holds
Recall or put a hold on a book that is out to another patron. The initial borrower has exclusive rights to an item for two weeks, unless it is recalled for Reserves. After this two-week period, another patron may recall the item and it must then be returned by the date indicated on the recall notice. A charge of $1.00 per day is incurred for each recalled item that has not been returned. Due to New York State privacy laws, we cannot give out the name of a person who has a specific item or who requests a specific item.
Two week loans are not subject to recall except for Reserves. Vassar students, faculty, administrators and staff may recall an item or request that it be held for them when it is returned. Other borrowers may request that an item be held for them when it is returned. Use the paper form or the online form .
Annex Requests:
Requests for items in the Annex are now made through the online catalog. For more information, see Annex Information.
Requests for Books in Process
Request an item that is currently being cataloged, is on order or has been sent to the bindery
Search Requests:
Request a search for a library item you are unable to locate. If you cannot find a book on the shelves or in the reshelving areas that is marked "available" in the online catalog, you might consider waiting to submit a request and looking again a few days later. If you are still unable to locate the item, fill out a search request form at the Circulation Desk or online.

After submitting one of these forms, you will be notified when the item(s) arrive (or in the case of an unsuccessful search requests, if the item is not found). Items can be picked up at the Circulation Desk.
