Collection Maintenance Department
The Collection Maintenance Department has numerous and varied responsibilities including:
- ensuring the orderly return of library materials to the regular shelves
- keeping the shelves in good order
- processing Search Requests
- disaster recovery
- monitoring environmental conditions
- making most signs and maps
- organizing shifts to distribute space evenly
- doing space analyses, studies, and planning
- providing support of various kinds to most other departments in the library
The department is run by the Collection Manager with help from twenty-nine student assistants during the school year and six to eight assistants during the summer.
