The Collection Development Committee, along with the Serials Management Committee and the Library Committee, provides mechanisms for insuring equity, continuity, and flexibility in the collection program:
The Collection Development Committee is composed of four librarians, and three faculty members of the Library Committee representing each of the three academic divisions, and is chaired by the Head of Collection Development. The committee is responsible for bringing collection development policy recommendations to the Director of Libraries and the Library Committee. In addition, it provides oversite of the Library Liaison Program and ongoing collection assessments, makes recommendations to the Director of Libraries on major purchases, and evaluates, reports, and advises on selection practices and patterns in the context of collection policies and goals.
