Books at the Vassar Library and Beyond

You'll find a lot of what you need in our library, but occasionally you may need to use books from other collections.  If there are books on your subject that Vassar doesn't own (particularly in languages other than English), or if our copy of a book is checked out or missing, check to see if one of the ConnectNY libraries own it.

If you're interested in identifying and requesting books from libraries outside the ConnectNY system, check WorldCat, a union catalog of most of the libraries in the US, and many beyond.  Use the links provided to request interlibrary loan through ILLiad.

Keywords and Subject Headings

In general, when using a catalog or other database, start with a keyword search.  Then, if you find books that match the sort of thing you're looking for, use the Subject Heading links in the full records to find related material.
