Open Access at Vassar College

Submit your work

To submit a peer-reviewed journal article for inclusion in Vassar College's open access institutional repository, Digital Window, email it to or use our online form. You can also upload the article yourself by creating and/or logging into your account in the repository.

N.B.: make sure you are logged into your Vassar Google Apps for Education account first.

Steps to submit your work

Step 1. Click the "submit your work" button above.

  • If you are not allowed to upload your article, request a waiver.
  • If your publisher asks for an addendum, we suggest the SPARC Author's Addendum.
  • If you need help determining whether or not you are allowed to submit, contact

TIP: you can submit your work even if your publisher requests an embargo! Use the "submit article" button to provide a copy and specify the duration of the embargo.

Step 2. Fill out as much information as possible on the form.

Step 3. Upload your pre-print or post-print article (sometimes called the "author's version" of the article) by clicking the ADD FILE link under the "Upload Your Article(s)" section of the form. 

If you only want a link to an open-access version of the article, be sure to note that.

Step 4. Click SUBMIT to submit your article for Open Access publication.

What happens next? We will upload your article as soon as possible. You will receive confirmation from our repository system, Digital Window, when the article is available.
