Library Services in Summer 2021

Welcome back to the Library!

In keeping with updates to Vassar College’s COVID-19 safety practices and policies, we have implemented the following guidelines for use of library buildings and spaces in Summer 2021. If you have questions about using the libraries this summer, please contact the Director’s Office, 845-437-5785.

Although many requirements, including masking and social distancing, are lifted, patrons, visitors, and library staff may choose to continue these practices for their own safety or comfort, or for other reasons.

  • Library buildings are open to the campus community (students, faculty, Emeriti faculty, and staff) with card access.
  • Guest borrowers are invited to resume their use of the libraries.
  • Those with appointments and participants in campus tours will also be admitted to the libraries.
  • Masks are no longer required indoors for vaccinated individuals. Masks are required for unvaccinated individuals.
  • Social distancing and room capacity requirements have been lifted. During the summer, furniture that was removed to accommodate these requirements will be returned to library spaces.
  • The 24-Hour Space and group study rooms will be available in the fall semester.
  • Research help from librarians is available throughout the summer, primarily through email and Zoom.
  • The Archives & Special Collections Library is open to researchers by appointment. Please contact spcoll@vassar.edu or 845-437-3799.
