Using the Libraries

Classrooms & teaching facilities

Archives and Special Collections Seminar Room

  • accommodates 12-18 people.
  • has wireless capability or network connection for instructor's laptop and projection capability for laptop.
  • may be used by classes utilizing materials from Archives and Special Collections.
  • make arrangements through Archives and Special Collections.

Main Library Classroom (room 160)

  • 32 workstations, projection for installed Mac and/or instructor's laptop, conference table and flat panel display. 
  • Faculty may sign out keys to the library classroom at the Main Library Circulation Desk.

Seminar Room

  • accommodates 10-12 people, has wireless capability or network connection for instructor's laptop and projection capability for laptop, VCR, or DVD.
  • available for regularly scheduled classes and other activities which are not library related.
  • e-mail Director’s office, libfacil@vassar.edu, to schedule.
  • Sign out key at the Main Library Circulation/Service Desk.

Room 88

  • accommodates approximately 25 people
  • has wireless capability or network connection for instructor's laptop and projection capability for laptop, VCR, or DVD
  • tables and chairs can be rearranged to suit a variety of different classroom needs
  • available for regularly scheduled classes and other activities before 3pm which are not library related
  • contact Director's Office, libfacil@vassar.edu, for more information and scheduling
  • sign out key at Main Library Circulation / Service Desk

Class of 1951 Reading Room

  • This space, on the second floor of the Thompson Library, is available for lectures and small talks with audiences.
  • Schedule through the Director’s Office, libfacil@vassar.edu.

Music Library Listening Classroom (MLLC)

  • This space is available in the Music Library, Skinner Hall
  • It is a state-of-the-art facility for classroom use, listening, and more.

Meeker Room

The Nancy Orbison Meeker classroom (AL.4) remains open during the day for student use. 

It currently houses a portion of the Art Reference collection, and can be booked for classes; email libfacil@vassar.edu for more information.  Classes scheduled will take precedent over student studying in the room.
