Vassar College Libraries has entered into an open access "read and publish" agreement with Oxford University Press. Vassar authors can now publish open access articles in over five hundred Oxford journals without incurring pricey author fees. The library assumes the cost of the fee as part of the subscription. Faculty and students who don't publish with Oxford also benefit because we now have access to this entire collection of journals.

This open access program allows for more equitable scholarly communication throughout the world, since anyone with the internet and a web browser can read open access articles. In addition, it also benefits authors since their work can now be read by more people.

To find a list of participating journals, use the Vassar College information page on the Oxford University Press website.  Authors whose work has been accepted for publication, should consult the step-by-step instruction sheet to request the use of open access funds. If you have additional questions, please contact Debra Bucher, debucher@vassar.edu

In addition to Oxford, Vassar Libraries has open access publishing agreements with the following journal publishers: American Chemical Society, Cambridge University Press, PLoS, and Company of Biologists.
