This is an excellent starting point for local historical topics. There is a print index shelved with the set that indexes the 1914-2000 volumes. Later volumes are thematic (eg, 2009 focuses on the Hudson River and includes articles on commercial fishing, rowing and whalers on the Hudson). Especially useful for bibliographies and identification of names and other search terms.
