Archives and Special Collections the Hudson Valley

Wondering where you can find primary source materials for your research project? Among the best sources of such materials are archives and library special collections. This guide offers an overview of archives and special collections in Poughkeepsie and the Hudson Valley region, including New York City. For each archive/special collection you will find a link to the institution's website, a brief description of its holdings, and a list of pertinent reseach areas. Those lists are not exhaustive. Rather, they simply highight some of the research possibilities these institutions offer. As you examine the websites, you will no doubt see additional possibilities. Some of these archives and special collections are far enough afield to require some travel by car or train. Others are closer than you might think.
