Fines and Recalls

Faculty are not charged overdue fines, but after an item is overdue for 1 month the faculty member will be billed and borrowing privileges will be suspended. Both the bill and the suspension will be removed when overdue item is returned. Overdue ILL and CNY items will continue to be billed and lead to loss of borrowing privileges in accordance with policies for these areas.

For faculty children, there is a $.20 per day per book overdue fine. If a book is recalled, an additional $1.00 per day is charged if the book is not returned by the date indicated on the recall notice. There is a $5 per day fine for late video/DVD returns.

*Recalled items: All loaned materials are subject to recall after 14 days if requested by another borrower, or immediately if needed for course reserves. The recall date becomes the due date; if items aren't returned by the due date, borrowing privileges are suspended until the item is returned.
