Access to Online Resources

Getting Started

Vassar College Libraries provides access to the web editions of The New York Times and Washington Post. Follow the instructions below for each.  We also provide access to hundreds of other news sources, but it's sometimes challenging to determine what we have. The best place to start is the Journals finder: just type in the title of the publication to find out what database it's in. One new collection of news sources, Access World News, is below. It includes hundreds of local, regional, national, and international news sources, all of which are updated regularly.

We also have many collections of historical newspapers--too many to list here. For those collections, a good starting place is the set of Newspaper & Magazines in our Databases list.

Lastly, if you have any questions about what we have, how to access it, or how to search and download, do not hesitate to contact us with your question.
