New Digital Preservation Guide

by Kim Gianfrancesco on 2022-11-03T08:30:00-04:00 | 0 Comments

It's that time of year again: World Digital Preservation Day! WDPD is an opportunity to learn more about how to ensure your digital documents, photos, videos and more will be available far into the future.

This year, to celebrate WDPD, Vassar Libraries is highlighting its new Digital Preservation Guide. Have you ever wondered:

  • Why file formats matter for long term preservation?
  • How to write a Data Management Plan for a grant application?
  • What kind of software you can use to preserve a website?
  • How to archive a digital scholarly project?

If so, you're in luck! Answers to these questions and more can be found in the Guide. Even if you've never thought about digital preservation before, anyone who creates digital materials (so...just about everyone!) will find useful information about what they can do to make sure their work products and personal memories are preserved for their own future use and for generations to come. And if you have a question that's not in the Guide or want to consult on an upcoming project or other concern, you can always contact Kim Gianfrancesco, Digital Preservation Librarian.
