Reading for Fun at the Vassar Libraries

Purchase requests

If there's something you want to read that the library doesn't have, you can request that we buy it. Just fill out this form to let us know that you would like the Vassar Libraries to get a copy. If we do end up purchasing the book, it will automatically be put on hold for you once it arrives so that you can be the first one to read it.

You can also request videos, CDs, journals, and other forms of media. Go to this link for a full list of request forms.

To request a book through Libby/Overdrive, use the regular search bar to find it and click on "Notify Me." We use this information to help decide which eBooks we should buy for the library, so it's helpful for us too!

Requesting books through ILL

Another option for requesting items that we don't have is interlibrary loan. You can submit an ILL request and we'll see if we can borrow the book or article that you want from another library. It only takes about a week for physical items and a few days for digital items, and you'll get an email when it's ready. Learn more about ILL at this page!
