Music Library Listening Classroom (MLLC)

The Music Library Listening Classroom (MLLC) is utilized by multiple departments throughout the Vassar campus and is home to courses in Anthropology, Africana and Women Studies, Media Studies, and Music. 

Equipped with the following, the  Music Library Listening Classroom (MLLC) facilitates teaching with sound and visual recordings:

  • Playback equipment for most audio-visual formats: CD, CAS, DVD, Blu-Ray, Laser Disc, VCR.
  • 28 short piano keyboards; 
  • 88-key electronic piano
  • Microphones to enhance isolated listening
  • Document camera
  • SMART computer
  • Resident MAC

No food or drink is permitted in this classroom.

Full semester courses: contact the Registrar

Individual class sessions: contact the Music Library staff.

For student groups or individual use for projects/study this room is available on a first-come-first served basis: contact the Music Library staff or come in to the Music Library, first floor Skinner Hall of Music.

 

 

AV ALCOVE

 

The AV Alcove enables students to work individually or in pairs with a wide array of A-V equipment including:

  • Playback equipment for the following formats: CD DVD, Laser Disc, Cassette, VCR.
  • Sibelius Music Notation software with piano keyboard 
  • 2 MAC computers
  • Headphones with cables must be used in this area.  These Headphones are loaned at the Music Library Circulation Desk to those with a Vassar ID.
